Dorothea Mary Moore - born in Islington 27 February 1880, was 1 of 5 children. In 1909 she lived in Aberdeen. She had plays performed by the Alexander Maclean Company. She served as a VAD in 1914 and subsequently moved to Eastbourne, keeping house for her brother, a Doctor. She became a guider there 1918 - 1927. She later moved to Buckhamshire, and died in London, 1933.

 

Dorothea wrote 65 novels, of which 23 were sachool stories. She also wrote children's historical, Ruritanian and adventure stories. She also wrote the 'Ursula' Series, 4 books, between 1908-1913.
