Presumed 1st edition, as written in 1909 & this is a Pre 1912 copy - inscription dated 1912; Hbk; large 8vo; no d/w, green cloth covered bds with black titling + gold gilt decoration to fr bd + spine. Spine faded; cover a little worn/rubbed; bottom of front hinge splitting, exposing a little netting; tissue protected colour frontis; another 23 lovely full page colour illustrations, all taken from pastel drawings by John Elliott. A few pages have small closed tears in margins, but generally very clean & bright, expecially considering almost 100 years old.
